China Nonferrous CNMHK HUACHIN METAL Conducts Emergency Drilling for Tailings Dam under Heavy Rain Conditions

In order to thoroughly implement the policy of "safety first, prevention foremost, and comprehensive management" and comprehensively test the effectiveness of the emergency plan, NFC CNMHK HUACHIN METAL successfully organized an "emergency drill for water level emergency caused by heavy rainfall and overflow of the emergency pool" at No. 4 tailings pond on November 10, 2025.

More than 40 people from multiple departments participated in the drill. The simulation involved a sudden heavy rainfall causing the water level in the tailings pond to exceed the warning level. From reporting the emergency, initiating the plan, to the rapid coordination among various emergency response teams (disposal, monitoring, evacuation, material supply, medical care, coordination), the situation was successfully resolved within 30 minutes, marking a complete success of the drill.

The representative office of the group and the Safety and Environmental Protection Department commented on and affirmed the achievements, and proposed directions for improvement: strengthening training for local employees, optimizing the prepositioning of emergency supplies, improving public opinion management, and enhancing the construction of monitoring systems.

The multi-departmental collaboration in this drill has honed the emergency response team and accumulated practical experience for dealing with extreme weather and strengthening the safety defense line of tailings ponds.
